Dustin Ackerson

Dustin Ackerson will be a senior at Ocean Lakes High School in the fall and his previous roles include: Von Schreiber, Ensemble-Sound of Music, Kevin G.- Mean Girls, The Motorist-Clue!, The Mayor, Teen Chorus- Bye Bye Birdie, And Scott Barrows - Makin’ It. Theatre was my first ever real community I found in a school. I developed so many friendships and a family because of it. Spotlight is an extension of my family because at the end of the day we all work together to make an amazing show, so in a sense we are family! My parents and siblings have supported me through everything, I would not be here if it wasn't for them! Love to my family, love to OLTC, and love to Spotlight peeps!

Avelyn Bollen

Avelyn Bollen is ecstatic to be performing in her fourth production with Spotlight. She is a rising fourth-year senior at Governor's School for the Arts Musical Theatre department. GSA credits include Anne Boleyn (SIX, GSA), Portia (Something Rotten, GSA), and Little Red (Into the Woods, GSA). Recent credits include Ensemble (Footloose, VMT), Fan (A Christmas Carol, VMT), Dorothy Gale (The Wizard of Oz), and Gretchen Wieners (Mean Girls). Avelyn is an Equity Membership Candidate.

Kyrielle Bonner is overjoyed to be back at Spotlight this summer! She is currently a third year Junior at the Governors School for the Arts. She was most recently seen as Catherine Parr in SIX at GSA, and in the ensemble of Footloose at Virginia Musical Theatre. When she’s not performing, she enjoys indoor cycling, creative writing, and recently began a photography business! She hopes you enjoy the show and the work she and her ever talented cast mates and staff have put in! @kyriellezenaee

Carson Caprio

Carson Caprio is very passionate about theatre and would love to pursue a minor in performing arts. She is a rising senior at Atlantic Shores Christian School. She has been a part of several productions throughout her life. This is her first production outside of her school.

Sophia Castro is so excited for Urinetown and to be back with Spotlight! Sophia is a rising sophomore at the GSA’s Musical Theatre department and this is her second year at spotlight. Some recent credits include: Footloose (Ensemble), SIX (Anne Boleyn alt.), and Mean Girls (Skyler). Aside from being onstage Sophia enjoys the beach, swimming, crocheting and hanging out with friends. She would like to thank her friends, family, and teacher for all the support and knowledge they give her - she is so excited to share this show with everyone!

Yeardley Davenport is kind, funny, and open minded. She is a rising 8th grader at Chesapeake Bay Academy. She loves to play games, draw and hang out with her friends.

Juneau Frisbie Baade

Juneau Frisbie Baade is 16 years old and excited to perform with Spotlight for the first time! Juneau has previously enjoyed roles as Scrooge (A Christmas Carol), Sir Lawrence Wargrave (And Then There Were None), Colonel Arbuthnot (Murder on the Orient Express), and Dr. Gibbs (Our Town). Favorite musical roles Juneau has held include Man in Chair (The Drowsy Chaperone), Mr. Banks (Mary Poppins), Beast (Beauty & the Beast), and Baker (Into the Woods). Beyond theatre, Juneau loves music, singing, classical voice, playing and composing piano, guitar, and woodworking. He is enamored with languages, writing, theology, art, and history. Juneau would like to thank Mom, Dad, and Meleao for your love and support; Margaret McLewin and Hunter Enoch for your vocal instruction, and Melody Ganaway for this wonderful opportunity!

Shauna Gannaway

Shauna Gannaway is an eighteen year old rising college freshman. This fall she will attend the American Musical and Dramatic Academy in New York City. She has been acting since she was ten, and some of her more recent roles include Annie, in Annie, Young Elsa in Frozen, and Marmee in Little Women. She is also experienced with both the technical and instructing side of theatre. This is her second year at Spotlight, and she is so grateful to be back and for this wonderful opportunity!

Olivia Geluso

Olivia Geluso is a rising Junior at Green Run Collegiate and attends the Governor’s School for the Arts Musical Theater program. Some of her credits include Willy Wonka JR, Beauty & the Beast JR, Something Rotten, and Footloose. She is thrilled to be performing with Spotlight Productions for the first time this summer! She wants to give a big thanks to all of the family, friends, and mentors who have supported her throughout her creative journey.

Dorothy Glenn

Dorothy Glenn is so excited to be performing in this year's production of Urinetown! Dorothy is a rising Senior at Peninsula Catholic and is the President of their International Thespian Society Troupe. Some of her favorite shows she has performed in include: “Frozen The Musical” (Queen Elsa) with the PC Players, "Mean Girls The Musical" (Mrs. George) with Spotlight Productions, and “Little Women" (Amy March) with the PC Players. Dorothy would like to thank her entire family for all of their love and support, the amazing cast, her best friends Violet and Zooey, and especially her Papa, who will always be watching in spirit!

Kayleigh Highlander

Kayleigh is full of personality and comes alive on stage. She has never been in a "formal" play/musical. She is homeschooled and can be shy when meeting others, but has so much potential and love for theatre. She likes to sing for fun, but had no formal training. She is on the autism spectrum, mostly social/anxiety which is why we love that she wants to do this production.

Grayson Hinsch

Grayson Hinsch is excited to be in Urinetown. He has appeared in Les Miserables (Feuilly), Beauty and the Beast (Beast), White Christmas (Phil Davis), Frozen (The Duke of Weselton), and Matilda (The Escapologist) and with VMT The Little Mermaid and also doing Footloose this past Spring. Grayson is a junior at Maury High School and is also in the Musical Theater Department at The Governor's School for the Arts. Grayson would like to thank his family and friends for their continued love and support.

Ian Isabella is a rising senior at Atlantic Shores Christian School. I have been doing theatre since third grade and have grown a love for the stage. Some of my favorite roles consist of: Prince Dauntless in Once Upon A Mattress Jr., a double cast of Bundles and Perkins in Annie Jr., and understudy for Bud in Father Knows Best. I am so thankful to be here at Spotlight Productions.

Zoe Jakubs

Zoe Jakubs is an experienced actress with many roles under her belt with Hurrah players and Cape Henry Collegiate. Some of her roles include Wickersham in Seussical Jr., Janet in Best Christmas Pageant Ever and most recently Marcie in You're a Good Man Charlie Brown. When not performing Zoe enjoys spending time with her friends and family and exploring new places.

Jeremiah Jones

Jeremiah Jones is a rising 12th grader at Princess Anne High School (VA Beach) and the Governor’s School located in Norfolk. Jeremiah began acting in musical theater with Hurrah Players in 2016 and later Governor School for the Arts in 2022. Jeremiah’s credits also include short films with Regent University Cinemas, and a commercial with Richmond News. Jeremiah would like to thank all for their support through the years.

Emelia Murphy

Emelia is an upcoming 9th grader to Salem High School’s Performing Arts Academy. She discovered her love of Musical Theatre during Covid when she watched Hamilton at home 10,000 times. Emelia has traveled several times to NYC to see Broadway shows. She was accepted into the Broadway Workshop directed by Marc Tuminelli last summer with a partial scholarship. Emelia has performed as the lead role in Annie Jr and Frozen Jr at Landstown Middle School. She has also been asked to perform at several showcases for Bach 2 Rock where she attends her voice lessons. Emelia would like to thank Spotlight for this opportunity & her mom.. Isabelle Nowlan

Isabelle Nowlan is a recent graduate of Salem High School and will be attending Virginia Wesleyan University on a full ride scholarship for vocal music and music education. This is her first year at Spotlight and she is very excited. Isabelle is a member of the Salem High School Madrigal Vocal Ensemble and the Salem High School Select Treble Ensemble and has recently performed in the All District II Chorus as first place soprano one and first alternative for All Virginia Chorus. In addition to chorus, she enjoys singing as the lead singer in her band, Total Luminosity. Isabelle would like to thank all of the people who have supported her through her artistic journey!

David Oakley

David Oakley is a rising 8th grader at Cape Henry Collegiate. He is excited to join the cast of Urinetown for his 2nd production with Spotlight! Some of his previous roles include Frozen, Jr. (Bishop), You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown (Charlie Brown), Finding Nemo, Jr. (Marlin) and Curious George and the Golden Meatball (Frankie Sidecar). David would like to thank everyone who has supported him throughout the show!

Kai Palmer is excited to make his Spotlight debut! He is a rising junior in the Musical Theatre department at The Governor’s School for the Arts. He has enjoyed working with many local theatre groups in the area. Recent credits include Footloose and A Christmas Carol (Child Scrooge/ensemble) with Virginia Musical Theatre, Anastasia (Swan Lake Dancer/ensemble) with Virginia Wesleyan University, and Fiddler on the Roof, Jr. (Tevye), The Drowsy Chaperone, Jr. (Aldolpho), and Mary Poppins, Jr. (Bert) with TADA. He would like to thank God, his family, and his friends.

Leann Purkey

Leann Purkey is so excited to make her Spotlight Productions debut! She is a 2025 graduate of Nansemond River High School and Governor’s School for the Arts (Musical Theatre). She is thrilled to attend Roosevelt University in Chicago this fall to pursue her BFA in Musical Theatre. Leann is also a proud member of the Doorway Singers! She would like to thank her friends, family, and all her teachers for believing in her and supporting her along the way! She couldn’t have done it without them. Enjoy the show!

Zachary Roy

Zachary Roy has been a proud participant in Spotlight for the past four years. His passion for the arts shines brightest in his love for music—especially band. He has been playing the clarinet for six years and recently began learning the saxophone, quickly excelling and even earning a few solos in the ODS Jazz Band this year. This fall, Zach will be starting high school at First Colonial High School and the Advanced Technology Center. He continues to amaze us with his talent, determination, and growth. We can’t wait to see what the future holds for him!

Olivia Seal is a recent graduate of Appomattox Regional Governor’s School for the Arts and Technology and will be attending Longwood University in the fall. Her past roles include Frenchy (Grease), Ensemble (Mean Girls), Grandma (Addams Family), Mrs. Greene (The Prom), and more. She’d like to thank all the cast and crew at Spotlight for the past few years and everyone who helped put this show together!

Peyton Scott is a 10th grader at Chesapeake Bay Academy. This is Peyton's second season with Spotlight Productions. She enjoys drawing, singing and acting. Peyton always loves to go horseback riding. Love you!

Elisabeth Smith is a rising 9th grader and she is looking forward to attending High School at Kellam this fall. She loves playing softball, acting and playing her clarinet. She likes swimming in her pool, playing Roblox and hanging out with her friends. Her favorite color is teal.

Layla Rose Sullivan

Layla has been singing, dancing and acting since she was 6 years old. Her first role was as an Oompa Loompa in Willy Wonka's Chocolate Factory. Since then, she spent years as a competitive dancer and performed as a featured and solo dancer in Newsies Jr. and the Addams Family, as well as the Baker's Wife in Into the Woods Jr., and her first adult production of Sweeney Todd at Ensemble and U/S for Tobias at Norfolk Little Theater. She is a student at Hickory High School, and a member of the 2025 Virginia All State Chorus. Layla's excited to announce that she's recently been cast in Little Theater of Virginia Beach's production of The Producers, and she's thrilled to join the cast of Spotlight Production's Urinetown!

Aliyah Tamondong

Aliyah Tamondong is a rising Sophomore at Kellam High School and is a member of the Kellam Marching Knights. She is a very creative and artistic person and is always eager to develop her artistic passions. This is her 5th year with Spotlight Productions and she looks forward to reconnecting with her previous castmates and friends. In her spare time, Aliyah enjoys being with family, hanging out with friends, traveling, and spending time with her pup.

Stacey Vassiliou is going into her second year at The Governor’s School for the Arts and is looking forward to her Junior year at Cox High School. Stacey most recently performed in the ensemble in both Footloose through Virginia Musical Theater and in SIX at Governor’s School for the Arts. And prior to that she played the Evil Stepmother in Cinderella and Ms. Trunchbull in Matilda at Cape Henry Collegiate. Stacey is excited to have her experience to perform with Spotlight. She would like to thank all her family and friends who support and encourage her.

Kasey Weigl is excited to return for her fourth summer with Spotlight Productions. During her freshman year, she earned a spot on the varsity softball team. She’s currently a rising sophomore in the vocal strand of the Visual and Performing Arts Academy at Salem High School, where she continues to grow as a performer and artist.
