Addie Peterson

Addie loves to perform whether dancing, singing, or acting. She is a rising senior at Norfolk Academy, where she has performed with The Academy Players since 7th grade. Most recently, she starred as Jo March in Little Women and as Rosie in Bye Bye Birdie. Addie is hoping to study musical theater in college and is excited to be a part of the Spotlight Theater's Mean Girls 2024!

Alexa is a rising 9th grader who will be attending the Governor’s School for the Arts for dance in the fall. She has been dancing since she was 3 years old, and even took a class with a Rockette in New York City this summer! Alexa loves Broadway musicals and her current favorite is MJ the Musical. This is Alexa’s 8th production with Spotlight!

Aliyah is a very creative and artistic person. She expresses her creativity by drawing and painting and dabbles in photography, as well as shooting and editing videos. This is Aliyah's 4th year with Spotlight Productions and looks forward to this camp each year. In the fall, Aliyah will be entering the 9th grade at Kellam High School and looks forward to developing her artistic passions. In her spare time, Aliyah enjoys spending time with her friends, her cousins, and her puppy.
Ana Mercogliano

Ana is a graduated senior from Landstown High School and will attend George Mason for Computer Game Design in the fall. This is her sixth year at Spotlight and she is very excited. At school, she has competed in DECA and TSA at the state level, and SkillsUSA representing Virginia at the national level. She has earned her black belt in Taekwondo and has 10 years of experience playing the violin. Ana also has two cats named Midas and Apollo who she loves dearly.
Ava Martin

Ava Martin is 17 years old and a senior at Cape Henry Collegiate. She has been performing with the Hurrah Players for the past few years, most recently in All Shook Up and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. She is currently the Audrey Understudy and in the ensemble of the Hurrah Players’ production of Little Shop of Horrors. In school theater, some of Ava’s credits include the Queen in Cinderella, Yvette in Clue, Catherine Understudy in Pippin and various other roles throughout the years. Additionally, Ava works as a party princess, performing as various princesses. She thanks everyone who has supported her and is excited to be a part of this show!

Avelyn is a rising junior at Tallwood HS and Governor’s School for the Arts. This is her third year as a Spotlight camper! Some of her favorite previous roles include Portia in Something Rotten and Little Red in Into The Woods with the Governor's School for the Arts, Marcy in School of Rock with Virginia Musical Theatre, Brigitta in Sound of Music with Virginia Opera/Virginia Arts Festival, and Amanda Thripp in Matilda with Virginia Stage Company.

Avery is a rising 7th grader at Plaza Middle School, and this is her first year with Spotlight Productions! Avery loves dance and chorus at school, and is very enthusiastic about performing. This past year, she was on both the debate and forensic team, and she’s amazing at public speaking. Avery loves to draw, and is part of the art club at school.

Avery is super excited to be back at Spotlight and to perform in one of her all-time favorite musicals, Mean Girls! Currently attending the Governor's School for the Arts in the Musical Theater department, Avery is thrilled to be making her GSA Musical premiere in the ensemble of Something Rotten. She has been on the stage since the age of six with the Hurrah players where she found her love for all things musical theater. Avery’s favorite roles include Natalie in All Shook Up, Evie u/s and ensemble in Disney's Descendants, Young Elsa in Frozen jr. , and Tessa in Annie.

Bella is a rising 9th grader at Princess Anne Middle School, and this is her 1st year with spotlight productions! Music is an important part of Bella’s life; she loves to sing, she’s a drum major in her band, and she plays the clarinet! She also likes to hang out with friends and family. Bella is very passionate about school and loves science.

This is Brady's fourth year with Spotlight Camp. He has been performing for 9 years and has been in several productions in the Hampton Roads area. He is a rising 10th grade student in Virginia Beach and attends vocal lessons with Kerri Hardwick. He enjoys spending time with his friends, making short films, and playing baseball. Brady would like to give a special shoutout to his family and friends.

Celia is a rising 11th grader at First Colonial and this is her 6th year with Spotlight Productions! She lives at home with her father, mother and brother. Celia loves her animals and her friends. When not acting, she loves to read, thrift shop, hang with friends and go to the beach. Some of Celia’s favorite roles she’s had in the past include Kelsey in High School Musical and Shannon in The Prom.

Born and raised in France, Clover has been in love with musical theater since she was seven years old. Currently a rising tenth grader, she has taken dance and drama classes for several years. This year, she played the Nurse in the French musical of Romeo and Juliet. She visits her American family every summer and is very enthusiastic about her second Spotlight camp. In her free time, she also enjoys reading, writing, sailing, baking and playing the violin.

Dorothy Corrine Glenn is so excited to be performing in this year's production of Mean Girls! Dorothy is a rising Junior at Peninsula Catholic and is the Vice President of their International Thespian Society Troupe. Some of her favorite shows she has performed in include The Prom! with Spotlight Productions, where she played an ensemble member, and Little Women with the PC Players, where she played Amy March. Dorothy would like to thank her entire family for all of their love and support, the amazing cast, and especially her Papa, who will always be watching in spirit!

Dustin is a rising 11th grader at Ocean Lakes High School, and this is his 1st year with Spotlight Productions! Dustin has been participating in theater since freshman year. He has done a lot of work behind the scenes the last couple years but just recently landed his first role. He is very into musical theater and will be seeing his first broadway show next month.

Emerie is an incoming freshman at the Legal Studies Academy at First Colonial High School and the Visual Arts department with the Governor's School for the Arts. She recently completed middle school at Old Donation School, where she participated in both visual and theater arts. Her artwork was featured in local galleries and most recently at the Jackalope Festival at the Oceanfront. She has performed in Trap, The Little Mermaid Jr., 13 Signs You Should Stop Being a Pirate, Bedtime Stories as Told By Our Dad who Messed Them Up, and Willy Wonka Jr.

Emma is a rising sophomore at First Colonial High School, and she’s part of the Legal Studies Academy. This is her seventh year attending Spotlight. Some of her favorite roles have included Veruca Salt from Willy Wonka and Sheldon from The Prom. Outside of Spotlight, Emma plays volleyball with Club 757 and plays bass guitar in her band, Total Luminosity. She would like to thank her parents and friends for always supporting her.

Evelyn is a rising 10th grader at Atlantic Shores Christian and is very excited to be part of Mean Girls this summer. She has been in several school productions, forensics meets, and band concerts. She also performed with Rich Theatre in Little Women as Meg and The Wizard of Oz as the Tin Woodman. Evelyn has so much passion for the arts, and she is so grateful to be given the opportunity to work with Spotlight.

Gabriel is a rising 9th grader at Norfolk Academy, and this is his 1st year with Spotlight Productions! Gabriel enjoys doing theatre tech, and he’s done lighting and sound before at school. He loves fencing.

Gabriella Waite is a rising senior at Maury High School and is so excited to be back for her 4th year at Spotlight. Her favorite roles include Emma Nolan in The Prom and Elle Woods in Legally Blonde. Her most recent credits are Something Rotten (ensemble) and Hurrah for the Holidays (Kickline). She would like to thank her parents for gas money and allowing her to go out with friends when she should be resting. She would also like to thank everyone at Spotlight for all of their hard work and support to make this the groolest show.

This is Gia’s third year with Spotlight. She has been in over a dozen productions including school and Spotlight. She loves to perform. She is going into her Senior year at Great Bridge High. Outside of theatre, Gia’s a writer, and she’s working on her first novel!

Grayson Hinsch has just finished his Freshman Year at the Governor's School For The Arts. He has recently appeared in The Little Mermaid (Wave), Les Miserables (Feuilly), Beauty and the Beast (Beast), White Christmas (Phil Davis), Frozen (The Duke of Weselton), and Matilda (Escapologist). He has been performing for many years now and loves to be on stage and sharing his craft. Grayson loves spending time with his family and friends and loves to travel and listen to music. He looks forward to more productions in the future and fulfilling his dream as a stage performer.

Jack is a rising sophomore at Tallwood High School in Virginia Beach. This will be Jack’s fifth Spotlight production. Jack is looking forward to working with familiar faces and new ones with this year’s production.

Jessica Murphy is a rising 8th grade student at Hugo Owens Middle School. She is not new to musical theater but new to Spotlight Productions. She is a very smart kid and is involved with musical theater and volleyball! Jessica has performed with Hurrah Players with their production of The Lion King and several summer shows at Cape Charles Theater. Jessica has performed in many shows including Matilda (Ms. Honey), James and the Giant Peach (Ladybug), Annie (Grace Farrell), A Christmas Carol (Belinda), and many more! Jessica also is currently taking voice lessons and has participated in the NATS competition receiving honors. Everyone is so proud of her and can't wait to see what she does next!

Joshua Cunnison is thrilled to be performing in this production of Mean Girls! He’s a 2024 graduate of the Kecoughtan High School Performing Arts Academy. Joshua will attend Florida International University in the fall, where he will pursue a BFA in Musical Theatre. Some of Joshua's favorite past roles include Shrek in Shrek the Musical, Uncle Fester in Addams Family, Mayor Dobbs in Bright Star, Benedick in Much Ado About Nothing and Nick Piazza in Fame. Joshua would like to thank his teachers throughout the years that have encouraged and helped him grow as a performer. A special shout out to his parents and family for their continued love and support.

This is Kasey’s 3rd summer with Spotlight Productions. She was also in a one act play - A Recipe of Me. During the school year, she cheers, plays softball and sings in chorus. She accepted a spot in the vocal program in the Visual and Performing Arts Academy at Salem High School which she will attend in the fall.

Kendall Selby is an 11th grader at Nansemond River High School, and she has a passion for all areas of musical theater; from singing and dancing to running sound and working mics. Kendall started dancing at the age of 3 and has been performing with the Hurrah Players for the past 10 years. This is Kendall's 3rd time attending Spotlight camp. Recently, Kendall performed as Odette in the Virginia Wesleyan University's production of Anastasia.

Latane (pronounced Lat-knee) is a rising 9th grader and has been involved in theater productions at Norfolk Academy for the last two years. He loves to be on stage and is usually the "funny guy." In Lower School, Latane also participated in the after school theater program and was a member of the Forensics team. Latane has a stutter and works very hard to master pronunciation and diction when speaking in front of groups and on stage. He is super excited to attend camp this summer!

Lee Hilliard is so excited for her second year at Spotlight Productions. She has been doing performances since she was two; whether it be dancing, acting, singing, or all three. Turning musical theater into a career is one of her biggest goals. Lee has recently graduated high school and while she hasn’t decided on a college yet, she received a scholarship from the Dean College musical theatre program!

Lilly has had a love for performing since she was 8 years old. She has been an active member of the Music Makers Live Broadway program for several years. Lilly has performed countless times and has played the role of Olaf from Frozen, Girl Scout from Beetlejuice, Yzma from The Emporers New Groove, LeFou from Beauty and the Beast and many others. She recently enjoyed her role as a lawyer in the Great Neck Middle one act play. Lilly is very excited to join Spotlight Productions and be a part of Mean Girls!

Luna has been with Spotlight Productions for 4 years. In addition to Spotlight performances, she has participated in several Shakespeare plays. Her favorite roles so far include Lady Macbeth and Ariel. Aside from theatre, Luna enjoys reading and writing poetry and spending time with her family. She is very excited to be a part of this year's Mean Girls production.

Macy Peyton is a recent high school graduate who has had a love for performing since she was young. She has been involved in theatre and dance for 10 years. Recently she has gained directing credits under Kilgore Gifted Centers Summer Theatre Program, serving as the Assistant Director for their productions of Mean Girls Jr. and Disney’s Descendants. In the fall, Macy is attending Virginia Commonwealth University and plans to major in Social Work and a minor in Musical Theatre.

She is a sophomore and proudly attends The Governor’s School For The Arts. Magnolia is the eldest of five siblings. Her other hobbies include reading and rock climbing.

Marlee Powell is an 8th grader at Hickory Middle School. She is currently in a production of Little Shop of Horrors with Hurrah Players as one of the Doo Wop singers and was Belle in Beauty and the Beast with her school. Her other favorite roles include Darla in Finding Nemo, a kickline dancer in Hurrah for the Holidays, and a lioness in The Lion King. When she’s not at rehearsal, you can find her on the volleyball court.

This is his third year doing Spotlight Productions; with his first debut being Sussical Jr. as Horton and his second year being Nick in The Prom. Shauna is a 17 year old rising senior and an aspiring actress. She has been involved in acting and theatre since she was 10 years old, and has completed an actor training program called Rich Studio. Some of her favorite roles include the Ladahlord in James and the Giant Peach, Marmee March in Little Women, and Mrs. Bucket in Willy Wonka. This is her first year with Spotlight, and she is very excited to be a part of the production Mean Girls. She'd like to thank her family, friends, and all of her previous and current theatre instructors for their endless support.

Sophia Ferguson is excited to return to Spotlight Productions, having performed in The Prom last summer. She was recently inducted into the International Thespian Society and received the Favorite Newcomer Actor for her performance as Lucas at Princess Anne High School’s production of The Addams Family. She is enrolled in the International Baccalaureate program and is involved with the school orchestra (cello), Drama Club, and other activities. When she is not performing, she loves to do arts and crafts, play with her dog Chewie, and sing car karaoke.
Zachary Roy

Zachary Roy is a rising 8th grader at Old Donation School, and this is his 3rd year with Spotlight Productions! He is very smart and confident in his opinions. He loves taekwondo and working and playing on computers. Zach is the youngest son of Matthew and Susan Roy and has two brothers, Nathaniel and Brayden. He is a part of a Navy family, and he was born at Naval Medical Center Portsmouth. In addition to Virginia Beach, VA, he has also lived in Monterey and San Diego, CA, and Great Lakes, IL.
