Missy is a gifted resource teacher in the Virginia Beach School system. Missy has produced and directed adult and children productions in the region for over 20 years. She received her drama endorsement from Virginia Wesleyan College and is actively involved in community theatre.
Penny has been the producer of Spotlight Productions from it’s founding. She is a local preschool teacher and holds a degree in Communications. Penny is the proud mother of two beautiful daughters.
Anita has been working with Spotlight Productions since it’s beginning and comes to us from Florida each year to direct our youth camp. She has studied music most of her life, being born in a family of musicians, and can play any instrument you put in front of her! She is currently a guidance counsellor (who received the 2014 Teach of the Year award at her school) and proud mother of a very talented young lady.
Rob is from that same talented family as Anita. Rob has been directing music at Spotlight for over 15 years. Currently Rob is a nationally board certified music teacher in Richmond, VA and was awarded the 2004 Teacher of the Year at Fox Elementary. Rob is married to his beautiful wife, Amaka, and they are expecting their first future Spotlight child in the Summer of 2018.
Dana Marguilies Cauthen has choreographed for many theaters in the area, including the Little Theater of Norfolk, The Little Theatre of Virginia Beach, Generic Theater. Peninsula Community Theater, Poquoson Island Players, and Williamsburg Players. She has also choreographed at Christopher Newport University and at Old Dominion University, where she is an adjunct faculty member in the ODU Theatre Department and serves as choreographer and movement consultant.
As a theatre and film professional, Travis has directed and acted in productions across the country. Travis is an Associate Professor and Coordinator of the Virginia Wesleyan University Theatre Program. Throughout the school year, Travis teaches courses such as Directing, Acting, and Technical Theatre. He also directs shows both at Wesleyan and in the community. Travis' recent directing credits include: The 39 Steps, Big River, and Noises Off! Travis serves as the Technical Director and Designer for Spotlight Productions.
Margaret has been with Spotlight Productions for many years as our props person and amazong photographer. During the show we can find Ms. Felts backstage keeping order amongst the kids (when not cracking them or the staff up). When not at Spotlight you can find her teaching government at high school in VA Beach or cheering on her beloved Norfolk Admirals.
Melody is so thrilled to be working with Spotlight again. She got her start performing in the community with Spotlight Productions in 2003 when she first performed in the Teen Camp. From there, she went to The Governor's School for the Arts in the Musical Theatre and Vocal Departments. Melody received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Musical Theatre Performance from Marymount Manhattan College in New York City. She has had the honor of performing with Sesame Street Live, Walt Disney World, Carnival Cruise Line, Virginia Musical Theatre and most currently Busch Gardens. Melody recently started her own Interactive DJ Entertainment Company in the Hampton Roads area called Melody & Company Entertainment. Her favorite choreography opportunities include Urinetown with Spotlight Productions and the Opening Number for Mrs. Virginia.
